I had my third baby dream this weekend. I dreamt that I had a little hand-held ultrasound machine (similar to the doppler that my doctor uses), and I was watching my little one. This time, it was a girl, and she had pierced ears and a ponytail. I kept poking my belly in different spots and watching her literally bounce back and fourth.
The dream kind of made me realize that I think I may have started feeling the little one move lately. I haven't been sure how to identify what is baby and what is other normal bodily things, but I think I'm feeling the baby. I can't wait for it to get a bit more pronounced and obvious.

Benadryl...How I Love Thee
Last night I fell asleep on the couch around 8, and then drug myself to bed around 9:00. I decided to pop a few Benadryl along with my prenatal vitamins, and I slept like a dream!!! Of course, I still woke up once to go to the bathroom, but I went right back to sleep afterwords. Fantastic!!!

Sleeping Woes
I have noticed a pattern the last couple nights. I go to bed somewhere around 9:30 or 10:00 and sleep very soundly...for a while. My bladder (or Mike and Bella coming to bed) always wakes me up at some point, usually anywhere between 2:00 and 3:30. The bad thing is that lately, I can not go back to sleep after I've gotten up to pee!!! What's up with that!?
By the way, I think it's really obnoxious that the birds are already singing at 3:30 in the morning. That just doesn't seem normal. Are they just doing it to torture me?

17 Weeks
How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I lost one pound from last time, so that puts be up three from pre-pregnancy weight.
Maternity clothes? I think I'm finally going to splurge on some pants next week.
Stretch marks? not from the baby
Sleep: not so great, but not terrible either
Best moment this week: hearing the baby's heartbeat...again
Movement: not that I can feel, but it should be any time now
Food cravings: I have been eating a lot of pickles, but I don't know if I'd call it a craving exactly.
Gender: We will find out soon enough...
Labor Signs: Not even.
What I miss: days without headaches
What I am looking forward to: finding out the gender next month
Weekly Wisdom: Dreams are just dreams...don't stress.
Milestones: nothing big right now, actually

Pink or Blue
I'm getting increasingly curious about whether our little one is a boy or a girl. I'm guessing that we'll get to schedule "the big ultrasound" after our appointment on Monday. It's going to be a long wait, but until then...here are some common old wives tales to determine the gender.
It's a boy if:
You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute
You are carrying the extra weight out front
Your belly looks like a basketball
Your areolas have darkened considerably
You are carrying low
You are craving salty or sour foods
You are craving protein -- meats and cheese
Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy
The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy
Your hands are very dry
Your pillow faces north when you sleep
Dad-to-be is gaining weight, right along with you
Pregnancy has you looking better than ever
Your urine is bright yellow in color
Your nose is spreading
You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves in circles
You are having headaches
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number
It's a girl if:
You had morning sickness early in pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute
You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear
Your left breast is larger than your right breast
Your hair develops red highlights
You are carrying high
Your belly looks like a watermelon
You are craving sweets
You are craving fruit
You crave orange juice
You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy
You are moodier than usual during pregnancy
Your face breaks out more than usual
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread
Your breasts have really blossomed!
Your pillow faces south when you sleep
Your urine is a dull yellow color
You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves from side to side
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an odd number
I have more boy indicators than girl. Does that mean we have a little boy on our hands? Only ultrasounds will tell. :)

16 Weeks
How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: We go back to the doctor on Monday, so we'll see then.
Maternity clothes? I'm loving my tops and my belly band and thinking of ordering some pants soon.
Stretch marks? not from the baby
Sleep: I'm waiting for the whole "renewed energy" thing to kick in. I've gone to sleep before 9:00 the last two nights!!!
Best moment this week: hearing the baby's heartbeat...finally
Movement: Not that I can feel.
Food cravings: nothing lately
Gender: I'm going with boy. Old wives' tales and a heart rate of 153 support my thinking. :)
Labor Signs: Not even.
What I miss: nothing right now, I'm feeling pretty good
What I am looking forward to: having dinner with my preggo buddy and her hubby tonight
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep whenever possible!
Milestones: hearing that little heartbeat
I'll try to get a picture taken and put up yet this week. I don't think I've noticed much of a change in the last few weeks, but I could be wrong.
