How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I'm not sure, but I do feel like I'm the size of a house lately. This is especially scary though, because I saw a woman at my doctors office that must be close to her due date and she look huge and miserable. I'm not looking forward to that at all!
Maternity clothes? That's what I wear.
Stretch marks? yup
Sleep: My leg cramps have absolutely sucked the last couple nights! I also have noticed that when I turn from one side to the other, my hips hurt like a bitch!!! Other than that, sleep is sleep.
Best moment this week: I just found out that the results of my glucose tolerance test were well within normal. I do not have to take the 3-hour test. I do not have gestational diabetes!!! Woohoo!!!
Movement: Lots and lots and lots. I had one slightly scary night and morning when Little Girl was being lazy, but she perked up pretty quickly after I got into work. Really, she is always so active while I'm at work!
Food cravings: I wouldn't call it a craving, but my favorite breakfast right now is fresh berries (hurrah for the Farmers Market) with granola cereal and vanilla yogurt. So so so yummy!!!
Gender: Pink Ladies Rule!!!
Labor Signs: No way! I think I may have started feeling a few Braxton Hicks contractions here and there, but I'm not completely sure.
What I miss: eating spicy and flavorful food without the fear of heartburn
What I am looking forward to: going to a friend's baby shower this weekend (I'm sure it'll make me even more excited for mine!!!)
Weekly Wisdom: Naps are your friend!!!
Milestones: Trimester Number Three!!! I put this again this week because I haven't been able to get a clear answer anywhere to whether it's really 27 or 28 weeks. Either way, I'm there now and still can't believe how fast things are going!!!

And Now I'm Scared
So I was just reading a blog that I follow. This girl is pregnant also, but one week ahead of me. She had found out that she was having a girl a few weeks before I did. Yesterday, though, she had an optional 3D ultrasound and was told that her little girl, in fact, has a penis. She's having a boy! The first ultrasound was wrong!!! Holy crap.
What are the chances? Does this happen often? Have we been shopping and planning for the wrong gender? Had this not happened to my fellow blogger, would I even be thinking about it?
I guess, since we're so not paying for a 3D ultrasound, if this little one turns out to be a boy, he'd just better like lavender.

27 Weeks
How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Don't know, don't really care.
Maternity clothes? I love 'em!!! I need to start looking for a dress for the big high school reunion, though.
Stretch marks? They are there. I've now added two Kitty scratches from trying to give him pills...they kind of blend in with the stretchies!
Sleep: not too bad, except for hand-numbness and leg cramps
Best moment this week: shopping for material for the baby quilt (which, I heard, is completed), and looking at babies in the nursery with Mike
Movement: All the time!!! Luckily, there's been a little more action in the evenings for Daddy. Last night Mike had his head on my belly and was talking to Little Girl...she kicked him in the face. It was fantastic and I was jealous. Sometimes I'd like to kick him in the face...only kidding!
Food cravings: I think Mike really has market cornered on cravings lately.
Gender: little lady
Labor Signs: Nope!!!
What I miss: being able to shave my legs comfortably
What I am looking forward to: water aerobics starting up again tonight
Weekly Wisdom: If at all possible, get pregnant later in the year so that by the time you can't reach your legs any longer, it will be winter and you can just wear pants.
Milestones: Trimester Number Three!!! Dang, this is flying by really quickly!
Total weight gain/loss: Don't know, don't really care.

26 Weeks and a Love Letter
How far along? 26 weeks...I know that I will be 27 weeks in just a few days, but I've been both busy and lazy this week.
Total weight gain/loss: Don't know, don't really care.
Maternity clothes? comfy...
Stretch marks? Yep, I got 'em.
Sleep: Last night is not a good example, but I've been sleeping great lately!
Best moment this week: getting to "play" with Little Girl
Movement: I've been having so much fun "playing" with the little one this week. Once she gives me a kick, she'll usually go back and forth with me (her kicking, me poking) for up to five minutes. It's pretty amusing.
Food cravings: Nothing, really, but I did get some amazing blackberries at the Farmers' Market last weekend.
Gender: girly girly girly
Labor Signs: Not even.
What I miss: I can't think of a thing right now. I'm so glad that I'm finally beginning to really enjoy my pregnancy!!!
What I am looking forward to: shopping for baby quilt material tomorrow
Weekly Wisdom: no idea
Milestones: "interactive fetus" status
Total weight gain/loss: Don't know, don't really care.

Dear Darling Little Girl,
I have had so so much fun playing with you this week. I love feeling you move within me, and it's just amazing to me that now you can feel and respond to me as well. Feeling your little movements is my constant reminder that you are growing and doing well and that all is right in my world.
If I had one wish, it would be for you to save some energy for the evenings. Most of our play time is during the day while I'm at work, and Daddy is missing out. I know that he would love to get to know you and feel your kicks and punches as well.
I love you so much!!!

Furniture!!!
Yesterday we went to Topeka and ordered the furniture for Little Girl's room. I could only find a picture to download with all three pieces, but we only got the crib and dresser. We love the darker-colored wood, especially with the cutie lavender and pink bedding we're getting!!!
So begins the excitement of preparing the baby's room. There are many things that must happen before the furniture can come to our apartment. First of all, we have some family hand-me-down furniture that will go back to Topeka for the time being. With only two bedrooms, we just don't have extra space. The next project will be figuring out what to do with the computer. Mike has suggested leaving the desk in the baby's room and setting the computer up on the dining room table. While this is a viable option, I do not like the idea of having the computer out in the open. I think it would just make our living room area look so cluttered. I'm thinking that I want to take the desk back into our bedroom, just like when we had roommates. We have room, and it's not too too cramped that way. I'm thinking of completely rearranging our bedroom, but I'm not quite sure. We are also keeping our eyes open for one more piece of baby-room-furniture. We desperately want a glider with ottoman for those late-night feedings. I'm sure it will all come together beautifully, let's just hope it does so before we get too close to November.

100 Days!!!
Today my ticker tells me that there are only 100 days left in my pregnancy (according to my due date)!!! How can this have flown by so quickly!?
As Mike and I were wandering around downtown (we had finished at the Farmer's Market and were waiting for Borders to open), we talked about "getting ready". I think we might finally be ready to really put some thought into turning our computer/guest room into Little Girl's room. Whew! It's going to be quite an undertaking, but I'm excited to see how it all works out. Wish us luck.

25 Weeks
How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I went to the doctor yesterday, so...I gained 6 more pounds. That makes 13 total from pre-pregnancy weight. Will it ever stop!? :)
Maternity clothes? That's pretty much all I wear. I have a couple non-maternity tops that I'll still wear, but that's about it. I'm beginning to wonder what of my old clothes will fit again after Little Girl is born.
Stretch marks? I guess I'm kind of getting used to them. I think it just goes with the territory. I'm beginning to wonder, though, if I'm going to get a linea negra (weird dark line that goes from your belly button down). There's no sign of one yet.
Sleep: I'm using my body pillow on more of a regular basis. I think I'm sleeping better, but the legs cramps are kind of driving me crazy.
Best moment this week: Mike getting to feel his first kick
Movement: I got to see my first kick yesterday! I was in the waiting room at the doctor's office. The other people waiting must have thought I was a nut job when I randomly started laughing at my belly.
Food cravings: I finally got to have the cheese fries that I've been thinking about for a month. They were fantastic!!!
Gender: We're waiting for a beautiful, darling little girl. I'm so excited to meet her. I read the other day that if you have a daughter, you're carrying the person who will hold your hand when you lay dying. Kind of morbid, but something to think about...
Labor Signs: Not even.
What I miss: being comfortable (and yes, I know it will get worse before it gets better...)
What I am looking forward to: Having all my lovely friends and family together for my baby shower. I know its still a month and a half away, but I'm excited!!!
Weekly Wisdom: F*ck the naysayers cause they don't mean a thing! (311)
Milestones: movement that you can feel/see from the outside

Two extra stories this week...
First, about my "Weekly Wisdom". Yesterday someone who hasn't seen me since May asked me, "Where are you hiding that baby, in your hips!?" I was honestly kind of hurt, but I'm choosing to get over it. I feel like my body has changed quite a lot, and I love how I look pregnant. I guess it just brought one of my big fears to the surface...just looking bigger not really pregnant. Oh well.
Second, about how I have the sweetest husband ever. Last night (or early this morning, rather) I had trouble getting comfortable after waking up to pee. I eventually decided to give the couch a try. Mike was still awake and came out to sleep with me. Our couch has recliners on either end, so he lays in a recliner and I get to stretch out with my head on his lap. This is my favorite way to nap, and we both fell right asleep. I give him a tough time sometimes, but he's been so so sweet. I feel so lucky and I know that I absolutely could not do this without him.
Ooh...bonus extra comment. Mike and I have decided that rather than buying a baby book, I'm going to make one scrapbook-style. This will be one of my first major scrapbooking projects, so I'd love any suggestions!!!
